dollyDOLLY TAKES A STEP FORWARD ON RESPECT – DOLLY RESPECT DAY –

APRIL 15 2011

DOLLY magazine and the Australian Government’s The Line initiative will be taking a big step forward with a powerful ‘positive relationships’ campaign to encourage young people across the country to demand healthy and respectful relationships.

Creating the big path to change, the campaign encourages young Australians to log onto www.dolly.ninemsn.com.au where they can upload their individual, personal affirmation and commitment to healthy relationships on specially created footprint outlines.

With a strong focus on open communication, listening & valuing others opinions, trust, consideration, courtesy and respect, the campaign will be marked with a special event in Sydney on April 15 2011, DOLLY RESPECT DAY.

Hosted by Maude Garrett and featuring entertainment by Justice Crew and Miracle, DOLLY RESPECT DAY will encourage attendees to bring along their footprints to be added to a commemorative ‘respect’ presentation wall.

While everyone agrees that something like physical violence is crossing the line, there are times when the line can become blurry. What young people experience in relationships now can affect them long into adulthood so it’s important to help ensure young people understand the significance of respectful relationships. At the end of the day, where you draw the line is up to you. It all comes down to respect: for others and for yourself, so you can be clear about where you draw the line.

DOLLY RESPECT DAY DETAILS:

DATE: Friday April 15 2011 TIME: 2pm – 5pm

LOCATION: Church Street Mall, Parramatta

COST: Free of charge

ACTIVITIES: DOLLY photo booth, goodie bags, temporary tattooists, hair and beauty destinations, commemorative ‘respect’ presentation wall, prizes and food stalls

ENTERTAINMENT: Maude Garrett, Justice Crew and Miracle
