Poppy Seed Cake

  • 1/3 Cup Poppy seed
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • 185g Butter
  • 3 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Cup CSR Smart fine raw sugar blend
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 Cups Self raining flour


  1. Grease a 14cmx 21cm loaf pan; line with baking paper.
  2. Combine poppy seeds and milk and stand for 1 hour.
  3. Heat oven
  4. Add butter & sugar into electric mixer and cream for 2 minutes.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, poppy seed milk mixture to mixer, beat on low speed till combined then turn to medium speed and mix for a few minutes or until colour changes.
  6. Pour into pan and bake in a moderate oven (approx 180) for 1 hour.
  7. Stand for at least 10 minutes before turning out.
